Welcome to the Jewish Federation of Broward County...where everyone, including YOU, can make a world of difference right now.  Our Federation joins together the human and financial resources of our community to save and improve Jewish lives in Broward County, in Israel and around the world.  The Federation acts in concert with its network of beneficiary agencies to: safeguard and address local educational and social service needs; perpetuate Jewish tradition and heritage; and ensure the continuity and survival of Israel, and Jewish communities around the world.

   Children & Teen Jewish Identity
Every Broward Jewish child and teen to participate in meaningful
Jewish experiences that will create strong Jewish identities that will last
throughout their lifetimes.

   Senior Care
We ensure that every broward Jew lives out his or her life in dignity.  We create a Commission on Jewish Senior Care, guided by Jewish values, to coordinate the delivery of needed senior services.

   Jewish Living and Learning
Broward Jews of every age activly participate in Jewish living and learning.  We create a Central Scholarship Bureau to remove financial barriers for Broward Jews to join/participate in any opportunities for Jewish living and learning offered by agencies, synagogues, or organizations in Broward County.

   Developmental Disabilities
We broaden the opportunities for any Broward Jewish child or adult with
developmental disabilities to live and learn in a Jewish environment.  We create a Jewish Commission on Developmental Disabilities to assess the scope of needs within Broward County.

   Israel
We grow Broward's participation in Israel's future and especially in rebuilding and revitalizing all of Israel.  We provide subsidies for Broward Jewish adults and families to travel to Israel on trips sponsored by Jewish organizations with a local presence in Broward County.

   Security
We advocate for Jewish security in Broward County and throughout the world.  Working collaboratively and cooperatively with local and national organizations, we lobby our elected officials to increase security for Jews and Jewish institutions locally and world-wide.

Statement from Agudath Israel of America

December 28, 2011

Upon consultation with its rabbinic leadership, Agudath Israel of America issued the following statement today:

Reports of recent events in the Israeli town of Beit Shemesh are deeply disturbing.  Violence of any sort, whether physical or verbal, by self-appointed "guardians" of modesty is reprehensible. Such conduct is beyond the bounds of decent, moral - Jewish! - behavior. We condemn these acts unconditionally.
