On July 27, 2012, a story printed in the “Jewish Press” by Lori Lowenthal Marcus accusing the Jewish Federations of North America of moving away from its support of Israel and Zionism.  Please be assured this is not accurate. Our Jewish community, along with JFNA, has always …and will always … stand in solidarity with Israel through our support and connections. Collectively, we send hundreds of millions of dollars each year to Israel to aid the vulnerable, to assist in education programs, to help new immigrants, to assist in job and skills development, and to provide concrete expressions of unity during Israel's darkest hours. We strengthen our bonds through the support of Birthright and other youth and young adult programs, community and national missions to Israel, and innovative partnerships between our communities and Israeli communities. JFNA is proud to be hosting the General Assembly in Israel in November 2013. And, we at the Jewish Federation of Broward County, are excited to represent South Florida with a large delegation who will join us for a community trip of a lifetime on November 5-13, 2013.
